Alejo & the Castro family always welcomes visitors with open arms to their farm. A lush plantation set in the mountains… inhabited by local vegetation, coffee plants and tropical birds. The Tarrazu region “pronounced Tar-ah-zoo” is arguably Costa Rica’s most famous coffee growing region and generally sits at an altitude between 1200m to 1700m. High quality beans and breathtaking views, will have you yearning more.
The family happens to be extremely passionate about environmental conservation and allocate the majority of their land towards the effort. The harvest period is usually from November to March, which perfectly lies outside the rainy season. Plants here generally have unique acidic qualities, which are primarily due to the sedimentary soil composition that define the land.
